BARC invites the applications for following two Programmes
1. OCES/DGFS-2026 recruitment programme This is a recruitment program for the position of Scientific Officers in the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) following the successful completion of the One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates for the year 2026-2027 (OCES-2026), which will be conducted at the BARC Training Schools. Some of the candidates selected for the OCES program will be offered the Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates for the years 2026-2027 (DGFS-2026). Under this scheme, Engineering Graduates who excel in the selection interviews for the BARC Training Schools’ programs and secure admission for M. Tech. at DGFS Institutes (IIT Bombay & IIT Madras) in the same academic year will receive a stipend and tuition fee to pursue an M. Tech. degree while retaining their employment in DAE. 2. DDFS-2026 doctoral academic programme This is a doctoral academic programme of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) for Engineering Postgraduates seeking admission to the DAE Doctoral Fellowship Scheme (DDFS) for pursuing a Ph.D. under the aegis of the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed-to-be University. Selected students will be admitted to one of the Constituent Institutions of HBNI—BARC Mumbai, IGCAR Kalpakkam, IPR Gandhinagar, or VECC Kolkata—for pursuing their Ph.D. For more details, Please refer to the Information Brochure for the DDFS-2026 programme.
Candidates are advised to read the information brochures of the relevant programme(s) and the following instructions carefully :
i) Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for OCES/DGFS - 2026 programmes, including the DDFS-2026 programme, may apply for both separately & independently.

ii) Please note that there will be a common online Computer-Based Test (CBT) for both of the above-mentioned programmes. Therefore, a candidate who is eligible and wishes to apply for both programmes (OCES/DGFS-2026 and DDFS-2026) must select the same set of city preferences for the exam venue for the online CBT while filling out the online applications.
